In the beginning......

this is family business. and this is for the family that can’t be with us.

RIP SHARON. WE LOVE YOU.

“you are loved. you are LOVE.”

wow. when i clicked to watch this video, i had no idea what the set was about. So when the intro montage started playing, I thought it was weird and completely skipped over it to start watching the dancing. i was enjoying the set, but it felt like something was different. As it slowly dawned on me what this set was about and what it was for, I legitly started tearing up, not only because of how emotional it was, but because of how much of a jackass i felt, for not respecting the message from the beginning, for being so close minded to not care about what i originally wasn’t interested in. I couldn’t hold it in. I made myself watch the entire video from beginning to end at least 2 or 3 more times to let it sink in.  I wasn’t the biggest GRV fan, but this set hit me hard. Forgive me Sharon and GRV for the disrespect I showed initially. This set is brilliant and wonderful on its own, but with the meaning behind it, it has an overwhelming emotion that just poured out of my computer screen. not to mention they used one of my most favorite songs ever in Tears in Heaven. Oh my god i wanted to start bawling. I wish I could have seen this live.

unbearably annoyed.

i wish i could transfer my anger into doing my work. then at least i could be productive while i’m angry.

but no. i’m instead taking out my frustration on tetris battle. which brings on a whole new frustration.

There’s a movement going on to make hip hop a part of the dance curriculum at the University of California, Irvine. There are so many of us who are affected by hip hop and most of us do not realize it. Many of us say we like hip hop music, that we do hip hop dance, yet most of us do not know what real hip hop music is, or what real hip hop dance is. We all must learn about what we are listening to, what we are doing, the era we are living in.

UCI is—no doubt—one of the most dance-oriented campuses, but dance teams are restricted to practicing late into the night in parking structures when there are numerous dance rooms available for use. Dance teams represent UCI at numerous dance competitions all over California—some even outside California—yet the faculty—both on the main campus and in the dance department—are completely ignorant of these dance teams and show no support for them. The dance teams represent UCI with hardly any gain, except for the pride of representing their team and UCI.

Where is the support from the dance department? Why aren’t dance teams allowed to use the dance rooms? Why aren’t there history classes on the culture of hip hop, the culture that most dominates the campus?

Really think about these questions because it most likely affects you. You don’t need to be a dancer to love hip hop. You don’t have to love rap music to love hip hop. Hip hop is not limited to those things. It is dance, music, fashion, a lifestyle, life.

Hip hop is our culture and we deserve the opportunity to learn about it, to have an active role in its evolution, and become united under peace, love, unity, and respect through hip hop.

I changed my facebook timeline cover to the avengers picture.. and I realized that my face was blocking Hawkeye’s body.  So I quickly took another photo to make Hawkeye look more fabulous.

im not the best at giving advice though .__.

but i always listen :)

i hate it when people complain about having no one on their side, or having no one to talk to or vent to, but whenever i ask them what’s wrong, they don’t want to share.

i’m always ready to listen just hit me up. [:
